Community Info: Bushfire Research by University of Melbourne

Good Afternoon Everyone

I have been asked to pass on the attached flyer to everyone who was affected/involved with the 2009 Bushfire in our area. The University of Melbourne have received a government grant to conduct a five year study into the health and wellbeing of fire-affected communities after a bushfire.

This is the first research of its kind to be done, so it is important that the research team captures as broad a picture as possible. The initial research area chosen to represent the Myrtleford fire was to be only Mudgegonga, however after further discussions with the research team they now have a more comprehensive list.

It is important that our area is represented in this research so I urge as many of you as possible to contact Dr Elyse Snowdon for possible interviewing during March/April. Elyse can be reached at the following email address:

The attached flyer is fairly self-explanatory however if anyone would like to discuss it further please feel free to either email me or give me a call on 57313500 Mon-Thu.
