Earthworm Identification Workshops
This is a hands-on workshop where you will learn basic earthworm identification techniques.
The workshops will cover:
• Earthworm anatomy – Which end is the head?
• How to tell the difference between native and introduced earthworms
• Identifying earthworm species commonly found in our area
Participants will receive a simple key (similar to the dung beetle identification chart), and have the
opportunity to put their newly found skills to the test. You are welcome to bring some earthworm
samples from your area.
Please bring along your favourite magnifying glass (Magnifiers will be available for use), and your
glasses (if you have some that help with viewing close-up fine details).
