Eligibility requirements relaxed for $5,000 recovery grants

The Clean-up and Restoration Grant for Primary Producers made available soon after the fires was limited to individuals who derive more than 51% of their individual income from the farming enterprise. This ruled out most hobby/lifestyle farmers and primary producers with off-farm income.
The change would apply to those earning less than $100,000 a year in total income who had received no other bushfire aid.
You are eligible for the Rural Properties Recovery Assistance payment if you own a property of 5 hectares or more in the bushfire affected area that has suffered damage or destruction.
