Mudgegonga Hall Committee News
12 May 09
The hall meeting on Monday May 11 went well with much discussion about kitchens and other renovations! Our task for the next few months is to finalise plans and quotes for the following areas:
- upgrade of the kitchen facilities to meet food handling standards
- upgrade of the toilet facilities to incorporate low water use toilets
- replacement of the heating system, to encourage the community to use our hall even in the depths of winter
- and building of the outdoor area to beautify and increase usability of the hall - $2000 has been donated by Belvoir-Wodonga Rotary Club towards an all weather outdoor area
Most of the money for these projects will need to be sourced from the various grant schemes that are available to fire affected communities.
Other news:
- The Beechworth Quilters have kindly sourced new curtains for the hall. They are also holding a Creative Women’s Day on Tuesday 26 May.
- The toilet septic system was recently cleaned with the Alpine Shire covering the costs.
- We have also secured a donation of interior paint from Dahlsens in Myrtleford and we will investigate labour that may be available to help with this job.
- The community notice board, funded by the Alpine Shire, is almost complete and is due to be erected within the next few weeks.
Meetings are usually held on the 2nd Monday of every second month.
