TOPFODDER - Making top quality Silage & Hay

Where: The Savoy Club, Myrtleford
Pasture and Fodder Conservation Specialist Frank Mickan from DPI, Victoria, will facilitate the 3 day workshop This TOPFODDER workshop is suitable for farmers, contractors and anyone interested in knowing more about the techniques required to make top quality silage and effectively meet the feed requirements of livestock.
The cost per participant will be $375 (for those eligible for government subsidy or $500 full cost) and includes a comprehensive manual, speaker’s notes, morning/ afternoon tea and lunch each day.
The workshop will include:
- Why make silage?
- Harvesting equipment, techniques and timing;
- Crops suitable for making silage; Storage options; Moisture
management;
- Meeting livestock feed requirements;
- Yield and
quality measurements and Productivity return and profitability.
