The Fund is now open to all farmers who are victims of the recent bushfires.
Applications will be reviewed by the VFF's Disaster Relief Fund Committee and approval will be determined based on the information provided by the applicant. Key considerations will be the level of reliance the applicant has on the income from the farm and the extent of the damage incurred by the applicant as a result of the 2009 bushfires. A cap of $5,000 per applicant has been set, but the Committee will consider increasing this amount in extenuating circumstances such as, very significant loss on one property or a group application from a number of property owners. Eligible expenditure is broad, e.g. household expenses, fencing, watering systems, feeding systems and machinery repair and replacement.
